# Blender Integration

## Introduction

This page covers bringing a trained splat model into Blender: the import, the edits a splat supports, the hybrid render beside mesh content, and the performance choices that keep the scene usable.

### Importing Splats into Blender
- Using KIRI 3DGS Render addon
- Importing .ply files
- Aligning to ground plane and reference geometry

### Editing Splats
- Cropping with Box modifier
- Color-based cleanup (removing sky, artifacts)
- Decimation for performance
- Combining with mesh objects

### Hybrid Rendering
- "Combine With Native Render" in KIRI
- Splat + mesh + camera solve in one scene
- Animation and walkthroughs

### Performance Management
- Display as point cloud vs. faces
- Camera culling
- Proxy objects

## Summary

A splat model enters Blender as imported geometry, not a native object. You can place it, crop it, clean it, and render it beside mesh content — but you cannot remesh it, and measurement must come from elsewhere. You now know the import, the supported edits, and the hybrid render that puts a splat beside a camera solve.
